Default 3 in a Subaru Forester

I asked earlier about 3 in the back of the stupid thing. But now I really looked at the car seat I was planning to use for newbie and see it expires at the end of this year rather pointless to try to use it.

We have a 2010 Forester which seems to have a stupid back seat.

DS (7) is hhb Graco Natulis
DD (3 1/2) 5 point in a baby trend hybrid 3-1 (next to impossible to correctly install)

So, now I am on the hunt for a super narrow convertible seat. I am not buying a bucket seat, I hate the things and almost never take them out of the car anyway, even in winter.

My budget won't be super high, but I have a few months to get it so it won't below end either.

Please and thanks for any help.

I'm not familiar with the car but from Googling it doesn't look good for a 3 across situation. I'm not sure what you could fit back there. Especially with the Nautilus. That thing is so bulky. Could you go to a babies r us and try some seats out? You might need to get your 7 year old a different booster. And maybe, you might be able to fit a Radian or Rainier.

Hopefully Carly or someone else could chime in.

Babies-R-us is a four hour drive (230 miles) 1 way in a direction I almost never go.

If need be I can. I can also look at a smaller booster, or even just a low back. He's getting close but I still want him in a high back for now.

Ugh, this is not fun
~~~~~~~
Oh, toys-r-us is 4 hours no babies
The only one I can't justify replacing is the baby trend hybrid as I just bought it in April
When I had my forester, I wasn't able to find a 3 across combo that worked at the time, and had to sell the car. That was an 03 model in 08.
We could not do 3 in ours. My husband just users that car for work and the baby can't go in.
Sigh, yeah replacing the car is absolutely not an option we just got it 2 years ago and it's paid for.
I had borrowed a narrower hhb earlier this year and between it and the baby trend there was actually room for someone to sit in the middle
I would look at the cosco scenera next for the new baby. It is narrow and should fit the baby rearfacing until age 2-4, depending on how big baby ends up. It is $45 at Walmart.
I'd then look into replacing the nautilus with a narrower HBB. The harmony dreamtime works well in 3 across and runs about $40 at target or walmart.
I used a scenery with DS when he was a few months old from what I remember it was a pain to install in our old car but it is a really good option.
I'd rather not have just HBB but rather one that can be a backless one too. I like the looks of the Evenflo big kid amp
For the baby I kinda like the Combi Coccoro, by the time cricket out grows that DS should at least be in a backless if not just in the seat.
Ugh
The amp is awesome but even backless it has a wider footprint. Not necessarily great for a 3 across situation
Isn't there a sunshine kids/radion type seat that's ultra narrow? It was all the rage for a while? You might be able to puzzle piece the three together.
The Scenera next is a different seat than the original Scenera. It is easier to install, from what I've heard. It came out this year.
The harmony dreamtime is a HBB but can also be used backless. The amp is a good choice. It may work well.
The combi coccoro is a great little seat but can be a pain to install. It will be outgrown sooner than the scenera next and costs $150 more.
Yeah the cost on the Combi is one of my hold ups on it. But even a few hundred is cheaper than a new vehicle which is a no go.
I saw that the Scenera next w as a bit different. Hmm the info I was seeing on the dreamlike didn't seem to show it as both hbb and backless.
I just keep looking at the width of the seats
The Costco one is 22, while the Combi is 15.5
The harmony is 16 and the evenflo is also 16
