Default Lunch box pictures!

Since I'm so motivated right now to make lunch, and I'm 100% sure that will lose its novelty here in the next couple weeks, I thought we could post pix of what we packed for lunch? So in a month or two when we're out of ideas we can come back and get some inspiration!

Yesterday (First Day of School):

I stuff a sandwich, apple, cheese stick, and some kind of bar, usually a kashi apple something or other in a paper bag.

I like fun lunches. I'm hoping it helps her eat more - because she's not an eater. Sure...supplies are fun too!

I'm working on convincing dh that I need fun lunch making supplies. But I look at all the cute lunches on Pinterest and worry that it isn't enough food.

I really want a pocket sandwich maker thingy!

We have egg molds, small cutters for veggies, and the sandwich cutters (heart, dinosaur, and butterfly), all are very inexpensive, I don't make fancy lunches every day though I just like to make them fun once in awhile. The egg molds are a pain in the butt, but the kids LOVE them.

I'll try to remember to snap some in the morning. Though ours are mostly basic.

Yesterday I sent pb&j with grapes, and a salad of avocado, tomato, cucumber and ranch dressing. With a handful of cheetos.

Today they had ham n cheese sandwiches, carrots and grapes, cheetos.

Tomorrow is homemade lunchable day.

Those are great! I have the little lunchbox kits from the co-op here and I am just happy if they don't forget theirs. We have 5 lunches everyday between DH and 4 of the kids.

I like to pack lunches for two reasons:
1) My food is yummier than cafeteria food. (They serve well-rounded meals, but they are plopped out of cans and pulled out the freezer.)
2) She gets longer to eat and relax. Packing lunch means she gets to walk right in, sit down, and eat instead of spending part of her lunch time in line.

She bought her lunch quite a bit in the beginning of kindergarten simply because she begged to do so. She liked the novelty of going through a line and "buying" something all by herself. That didn't last long though, now she gets mad if I even suggest that she buy lunch one day! LOL.

#2 is why Evan likes taking his lunch so often. He likes buying it, though, too. So he decides when he takes from home and when he buys depending on the menu from school. There are a bunch of new lunches this year that he's excited to try.
