Default Perennial (food) garden plants

Anyone done it? Had success?

Did you plant them in a raised bed style garden or just in with the flowers? If I plant them in the regular raised bed garden, can I move them in a year or so without worry?

The house we bought has a raised bed that is just asparagus I am excited for the asparagus, but I also am like really 4 sq feet of asparagus? That seems like a LOT of asparagus But, we bought it from a single lady, so is that too little for a family of 4? Should I try to grow even more?

I have rhubarb seeds started as well as Lovage (like a salad green). Plus, we are growing mystery plants all over - and probably even more plants that I won't know about until things really start growing around here. (feeling conflicted)
