I always enjoy your updates! It allows me to live vicariously for a while!! We are still two and a half years away from separation from the military so my dream waits til then . We are putting in a garden again this year. Lavender, rutabagas, celery, carrots, tomatoes, cucumber, pumpkins, peas, watermelon and sunflowers. Oh and peppers.

Sounds lovely! Lavender is on my list for next year. I am going to try and incorporate herbs into the existing flower gardens next year. There is a lot of bare patches in there now.

And thanks! I was thinking I'd do another DITLO now that we are so much busier!

That's so neat!

We have chickens, the garden and the greenhouse with aquaponics, but as I'm house bound with allergies, I have very little to talk about. I haven't seen most of it

How is the aqua phonics coming along? I remember when you were in the planning stages. It's been in the back of my mind as we think about adding a greenhouse in the coming years.

It's going well except for the whole food fish thing. We had some goldfish and they ate the tillapia (sp??) So, it works really well with some minor kinks that were worked out. Go for it! Do it!

But just get gold fish until you know what you're doing and have it all worked out, because them dying is like "crap, I killed all the fish. Sigh. I'm about $0.65" then replace with edible fish once you have the pond well established and know what you're doing (or just keep the gold fish, they work out great)

We had a tiny aquaponics jar with a goldfish and basil... the kids killed the fish by overfeeding it! Our local college has a big setup with talapia.

The birds are all in pretty close proximity, they can see each other for sure (unless I have clothing on the line). Little peeps are still much smaller, though, so we have awhile yet.

The girls are either mad about the move (it's been 3 days), too hot or otherwise holding out. I got ONE egg today! I have 2 daily layers that did not today, so I gave them a stern talking to. They were unimpressed. Now if I could get the little peeps to go up in the roost...
